I finally get the call today that I got accepted into the International Student Volunteer program for next summer! Although, I’m assuming they accept anyone that pays them. HAHA! Anyways, this is something I have definitely wanted to do for a LOONG TIME now. Our (Tiff & I) first choice is Thailand (pictured), then Costa Rica, and last and definitely not least, Australia! The program is a 4 week long trip, 2 of which involve volunteering — whether it be building houses in a local community, assist in conserving wildlife, or tutoring kids — while the other 2 weeks are pure adventure/vacation touring around the host country.
Looking through pictures and reading more about the program, I’m getting more and more excited/inspired/anxious! I’ve done my fair share of traveling recently, so lets keep this momentum going!
I cannot freakin’ wait! :D
Sounds like it’s going to be an amazing experience no matter where you go! I did something similar in India when I was 17, we did 1 week helping to build classrooms at a school and 3 weeks exploring.
