Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial in Taipei, Taiwan. When I was there in 2007, it was going through renovations so I couldn’t go in, but the outside was just as amazing to see. Chiang Kai-Shek has kind of a shakey history with the Taiwanese, so the stormy background in the photo made a perfect backdrop.

Every December our family goes to vacation in different places in the Philippines. Last December our family went to Palawan. This place has one of the world’s great wonder, an underground river, which was made in the hands of nature. Before arriving the actual river, we have to cross the sea from the main land, the sea was ragging, as if we were riding a carnival ride. But when we arrived at the underground, it was completely opposite with sea- serene and peaceful. The water was so clear that all we see is transparent clear fluid with tiny silver fishes swimming in it. We rode a boat that is paddled by a man (no motors are allowed because it might cause damage on the the stone). Inside, it was literally a cave (very dark) with stones on our ceiling and side (these are stalagmites and stalactites), which are formed through time. These stones have formations of mushroom, corn, a girl, even a big church :). It was really cool.

From August, 2009; my family went on a cruise from Vancouver, BC, to Alaska, and we got to go humpback whale watching in Juneau/Auk Bay! One of the most amazing experiences of my life was seeing the whales swim right up beside the catamaran boat we were on. Auk Bay is one of the lovelier places I’ve been on the west coast, and I hope to go back again someday.
