Within the fort there is an old church of St George, the only church in Greece constructed in Doric style. When you reach the top you will notice a clock tower and from this point you can see the whole town.
Sounio – Romantic Sunsets
This place is a must see for all people visiting Athens as the most romantic sunsets can be experienced while standing on this interesting site. Sounio is situated in the suburbs of the Greek capital Athens and is the site where you can see the ruins of the ancient temple of Poseidon. Sounio is also the place where Aegeus, an ancient Greek king, decided to end his life. The place is visited not only by tourists but also by Athenians who want to enjoy the spectacular sunsets.
Meteora – Thessaly, Closer to Heaven
This is probably one of the most visited places in Greece. If you plan a holiday in the area, visit Meteori to experience spirituality in its purest form. Meteora is an area where the city of Kalampaka is situated, under the rock towers. On top of the rock there are six monasteries worth the effort of climbing. Of course, you do not have to climb the rocks, but rather use the carved steps or a cable car; unless of course you want an adventure cultural holiday. The view from the top is splendid and you will understand why this place is one of the favourites when it comes to sightseeing.
